POSITION
Summary:The Security Officer is responsible for observing and reporting activities and incidents at an assigned site, Providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors and premises.
Qualifications:The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
Education/
Experience: High School Diploma or GED is strongly preferred as is previous related experience.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of or ability to learn operations and procedures. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Ability to be an effective team member. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances. Courteous telephone manner. Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. Good organizational skills. Ability to provide high quality customer service. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

All commercial fleet drivers must have a minimum of 3 years driving experience, regardless of age.
Minimum age is 21 years old. Drivers under the age of 21 are unacceptable.
Drivers over 70 years of age should be submitted for individual attention. These drivers may be subject to a physician s statement of fitness to be submitted to the carrier.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Much walking is required during normal duty shift. Position requires mobility, bending, occasional lifting (5-50lbs), stooping, standing and sitting. Seeing, hearing, speaking and writing clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients, as well as to ability to observe and report incidents. Potential for exposure to inclement weather. Must be physically fit and alert. Eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity is required. Moderate to high stress level.
May require physical exertion during stressful encounters with challenging individuals. May have to restrain individuals or deal with resistance on a daily basis.
Must be able to remain calm, continue to function effectively, and develop priorities during stressful situations.
Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Interrelationships: Interacts with all MedWest employees, patients, visitors, Medical Staff and general public.
Potential exposure to individuals who may be physically or verbally abusive.
Potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
This position may require the use of personal protective equipment during several patient and equipment related activities
Occasionally exposed to noise and unpleasant odors.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
